To this end they both advance principled arguments about the integrity of the sport and the threat to the fabric of the paddock should Red Bull negotiate a friendly outcome. Though no one believes this will happen, there is a huge appetite at Mercedes and Ferrari, the two teams with most to gain from Red Bull’s predicament, for punitive sanctions.
